In todays world where energy costs are rising, and peoples awareness of energy consumption, carbon emissions and sustainability are noticeable, the days of driving past large construction site's lit up 24 hours a day 7 days a week are very expensive and worse is not very good public relation's.

Our 110volt fluorcescent lighting is electronic controlled rather than switch start which gives 20% energy saving and reduces maintaince cost as no starters to replace. In some european counties switch start fluorcescent lighting have already been banned.

At the new Bettws Comprehensive School we have developed a  major cost saving for leadbitter Construction, with all site fluorcescent lighting controlled by the secuiry guard in the site secuirty office, with one switch all lighting can be turned off when the last operative leaves site,but the site transformers are left live to charge access equipment overnight and to maintain power to site emergency lighting. If any incident occures the lighting can be re-engerised so secuirty can check the site.

When you consider most sites are open 5 days at 10hours and saturday morning, the energy consumption for site lighting can drop to a third.
